I have a confession to make. I am addicted to the Food Network. I love Rachael Ray. I have a celebrity crush on Alton Brown. I could watch Iron Chef (both the old one and the new one) all day long! It all started out in College when I would watch while I was eating lunch to distract myself from the bland food I was eating. Once I got married we couldn't afford cable, so I could only get my fix while traveling. Now that we have cable I can't stop watching! Especially now that I have gotten domestic in my old age. I also find myself contemplating making large expenditures on kitchen appliances I would probably only use twice a year, if that!
I haven't recorded a show to keep (more than just to watch once and record over) in ages, but I am contemplating doing that for Good Eats. I think part of what I love about the show is the science behind it all. You get to know why things happen when you cook, not just how to make something tasty. I have always been a big fan of wanting to know "why." But not only am I going to tape these shows so I can watch them over and over again, but I am keeping a log of the shows, when they air, and what recipes are in that show. I can be such a geek!
Anyone else have an undying love for the Food Network?
