I haven't worked out since Monday and boy can I tell the difference. But I have all kinds of wonderful excuses! Want to hear them? Tuesday my husband's car had to go into the shop so he had to take my truck. Meaning I had no way to get to the gym at lunch. Wednesday I was working at home and just let the day get away from me. (Great excuse, huh!) Yesterday I was supposed to workout at lunch and go to the gym with a friend after work, but I told myself because I was working out after work I didn't need to workout at lunch. And after work my friend and I both felt yicky and didn't want to go so we talked each other out of it. We went out to eat at Olive Garden instead and pigged out on salad, soup and breadsticks. Yummy!
Now for the ways I could have avoided this situation. Tuesday I should have gotten up early and done a weight workout either at the gym near my house or done at least an upper body workout with the dumbbells I have at home. Wednesday I should have just sucked it up and either ran in the morning or right after my work hours were over. Yesterday I really should have worked out at lunch and I should not have let my friend (and myself) talk me out of working out after work. (Count how many times the word work is used in some form in this post and get a fabulous prize! jk)
Now that I have properly flogged myself for my bad behavior I need to note that I am going to workout today at lunch! Yay for me! I plan on getting a good run in and hopefully all this resting I have been doing will just help me to run better and maybe a little faster. I'll let you know how I do when I get back!
