Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. We got back into town last night. It was great to see family again, but I wish it could have been under better circumstances. If you wouldn't mind, please continue to pray for my husband's Grandma. She and Grandpa were married for 60 years. I can't imagine what she is going through during her first night alone. While we were there we always made sure someone was with her.
The whole experience has been a bit strange. This is my first real loss as an adult. Two of my grandparents died when I was much younger, and I am finding this experience much different. I find myself wanting to keep my family close and make sure they know how much I love them. I know that death is not the end, only a temporary separation, but it is still hard.
On a lighter note, my brother's first child was born this past Tuesday! She was 8 pounds 1 ounce, 20 inches long with a full head of dark hair. My SIL had 10 hours of labor and she and the baby are doing well. We still don't know a name, but I'm sure it is a beautiful one.
Also, today is my birthday! With everything that has been going on I feel a little bit blah about it, not really in the mood to celebrate. I will probably just go out to dinner with my husband and maybe spurge on something frivolous.
Give your loved ones an extra hug or kiss tonight!
Happy Birthday!!! I'm sorry you're not in a celebrating mood.
ReplyDeleteRebecca - Happy Belated Birthday!!! I hope that you did something fun. Glad to hear that you made it back home safe.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! (a day late). I hope you had a good one.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure this will be a big adjustment for your husband's grandma. Hard to even imagine how much you would miss a person after 60 years. I'll keep her in my prayers.
And congrats on your new niece. Nieces are great to have & spoil. ;-)
Happy Birthday!!!! Hope it's a great day.
